Our program is an integral building
block of our parish's faith formation. The curriculum used is a
developmentally appropriate series entitled CALL TO FAITH. Classes
are taught by parishioners who feel called to share their faith and do so
imparting knowledge about the teachings of the Catholic Church. |

Parish Youth Ministry
Faith Formation continues for grades 7-12 with our Junior High R.A.P.
(Religion Among Peers) and our High School programs incorporating faith
education, service, stewardship, and celebration of our faith. Both groups meet
twice a month beginning in late September/early October.
Junior High ( R.A.P.) Classes are offered after Mass on Sundays
at two locations- LITCHFIELD & SEVILLE
High School Classes are held on Sunday 6:30-8PM
at LODI
Youth Ministry also incorporates the bigger picture of inspiring the youth of
the parish to grow in their faith and share with others by example and
discipleship. Youth Ministry does this by sponsoring Faith Formation as
well as service activities, retreats, liturgies, prayer services, community
involvement, social gatherings, parish and diocesan events, and safe, fun
gatherings for pre-teens to teens and much more.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
R.C.I.A. is a process for bringing adults into full
communion with the Catholic Church. It emphasizes the Gospel of Jesus, shares
the teachings of the Church, promotes prayer and spiritual growth and invites
the parish community to walk with those on this spiritual journey. It is
celebrated in stages or steps and leads to the sacraments of initiation:
Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist and full communion with the Catholic Church.
Who may participate in the R.C.I.A.?
- Someone who has never been
baptized (an Inquirer) and simply wants to know more about the Catholic
Church. No commitment is necessary during this stage. An inquirer may
remain in this stage until they are ready to be accepted into the Catholic
Community. Once they have decided to join the Church they will be prepared to
receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. These are
the Sacraments of Initiation which constitute full communion with the Catholic
Community.
-
Someone who
is baptized Christian and wishes to know more about the Catholic Faith
with the intention of making a decision about becoming Catholic. This process
leads to reception into the Church through a profession of faith, Confirmation
and Holy Eucharist.
-
Someone who
has been baptized Catholic and is still in need of reception of Eucharist
and Confirmation. Now as an adult, that person wishes to learn more about the
faith and become a confirmed Catholic.
Meetings are held once a week and are facilitated by the
OLHC R.C.I.A. team.
If you are
interested in joining us or have any questions related to this process please
contact the parish office at (330) 722-1180.
