A Lenten Reminder about Fasting and Abstinence
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat and days of fasting that are limited to a single meal. Abstinence binds all Catholics aged 14 years and older. Fasting binds all Catholics aged 18 years and older until age 59 years. Other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat. Fasting and Abstinence on the prescribed days should be considered a minimum response to the Lord's call to penance and conversion.
